Many new shipments have just arrived!

It have been two crazy years in the gem and mineral industry! The pandemic made purchasing difficult to impossible due to dislocations in the global supply chains.

Various measures in different countries also led to supply bottlenecks for minerals. Problems with international container shipments, which were initially delayed, inevitably led to an increase in transport costs to record levels.
We are currently paying about three times as much for a standard ocean freight container (cargo weight up to about 44,000 lbt) as before Covid-19. Through good coordination and efficient utilization of our containers, we are trying to absorb at least a part of these increased transport costs.

But now to the good news - we have recently greatly expanded our assortment in our online store. Many products are available again!

For the Tucson show we imported over 200,000 lb of goods from all over the world!

» Brazil
beautiful amethyst

Our trip took us from the south of Brazil to the north over three weeks.

In southern Brazil we bought mostly Amethysts, but also many tumbled stones and other items.

The much more exciting areas are in Minas Gerais and Bahia. These much less developed states offer a great variety of gemstone deposits.

Do you know Trollite?

We hardly knew this beautiful blue stone until now. Minalogically, Trollite is a mixture of mainly Lazulite and other minerals like Kyanite. Nevertheless, the name Trollite has become common.

After some research we were able to locate the mine and reached it after a journey of several days. On site we examined freshly mined raw stones and selected piece by piece. Trollite is always surrounded by white Bedrock, unfortunately a large part of the raw material has to be cut away to get the pure blue jewelry. Only our precise quality control allows for high quality end products.

Just in time for the Tucson Show, we created Trollite bracelets, bead strands, hearts and pendants! According to our research, there have been hardy any high quality pieces of Trollite jewelry offered until now. Make sure to secure these unique jewelry pieces immediately and offer these exclusive product novelties to your customers as well!

In Bahia, we focused on getting Smoky Quartz and Rutile Quartz. Not to forget the beautiful Green Aventurine, which we also bought directly from the mine. Right now you can buy raw material online and at the show. Finished products will be available soon.

We are happy to announce that the popular crystal powder is now back in stock! Store www.rocktreasureswholesale.com for more popular Brazilian products for your business.

» Norway

A highlight every year is the Thulite mining in our own mine in Norway. As the Thulite gets harder in depth, we had to buy new equipment this year. This effort is well worth, because the quality gets way better.

We were not able to mine as much material as last year, but the quality is very good.

The site is located on a swampy plateau that is difficult to access. Transportation from the remote site is by helicopter.

We made the popular hearts, soapstones and spheres, as well as many other products, in time for the Tucson Show. Some of them are already online - in case you can't visit us in Tucson!

Black Tourmaline Large Rough Stones

This year we have imported micro-tumbled stones, including Moonstone and Carnelian.

A large quantity of natural black Tourmaline and raw Rainbow Moonstone is now available online and at the show.

Despite the enormous price increase in the mineral market, we were even able to massively reduce the price of black Tourmaline through well-conceived sourcing!

» Madagascar

The highlight of our trip last May was definitely a 10-hour drive through varied landscapes in Madagascar. The extensive drive took us over hilly mountains and valleys, wide plains with rice fields, to barren steppes.

The "variety" of roads is also somewhat troublesome: apart from a few kilometers of well-maintained roads, most are either filled with potholes or are only plain gravel roads. Some of the roads are so washed out that you can only travel at a walking pace. As beautiful as Madagascar is, the infrastructure is unfortunately catastrophic.

Rose Quarz mine

This Rose Quartz mine has been dug by hand for over 50 years. Since the hole is now many feet deep, water is the biggest problem.

The water-mud mixture is "brought out" by a human chain with buckets. A small vehicle is used only to carry away the excavated material.

Previously, once the vein was exposed, the holes were drilled by hand and the Rose Quartz was broken out with wedges.

Hausen Rocktrasures was able to provide the mine owner with a generator and a set of drills to help to expedite this process.

With this basic equipment and some spring wedges, the stones are now being split out. This makes the process easier and more time efficient for the miners.

As with all mines, the occurrence of very good quality is rare - much of the Rose Quartz has little to no color. Only a small portion is top quality.

As part of our Tucson Show, we imported over 10,000 lb of Rose Quartz raw and finished products.

Come and see our new and beautiful Rose Quartz shapes and stay for the variety of colorful minerals that exist in Madagascar - Labradorite, Polychrome Jasper, Apatite, Rock Crystal, Septarium, Green Opal, Celestite, Moonstone, Blue Calcite, Anhydrite, Amazonite, Dendritic Agate, Tourmaline.

Speaking of Tourmaline: the colored Tourmaline slices from Madagascar with very beautiful structures and stars are legendary. This material was found in larger quantities starting in the 1990s. This hype was overtaken by a Sapphire deposit including a "Sapphire Rush" in the south of Madagascar, whereupon many miners migrated there. We have now been able to acquire a lot of these unique minerals from a liquidation. Among them are many multi-colored Tourmaline discs, including Watermelon Tourmaline, some with colored stars.

Hausen Rocktreasures continues to focus on unique products and lesser known stones. We have created some beautiful shapes of Garnet in Wollastonite. The red/orange garnets in light wollastonite make a nice contrast!

Also, some rare and colorful Eudyalite was completed just in time for the show.

Not to mention the fascinating Midninght Lace Obsidian - we also have many products in stock including beads, bracelets and tumbled stones!

Polished Flints, Pinolite, Shungite, Schalenblende, Siberian Agate, and Bismuth Crystals are just a few of the exciting materials we will be featuring at this year's Tucson Show!
